Mekong Capital is a Vietnam-focused private equity firm. Established in 2001, and with a team of 50+ full time people in our offices in Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi, we are the most experienced Vietnam-focused private equity investor.

Our investor base consists of over 50 investors, primarily traditional private equity Limited Partners. Our investor base is conservative and long-term in their outlook. None of our funds are listed on a stock exchange.

Our Funds

The Mekong Enterprise Fund, Ltd. is a $31 million private equity fund focusing on growth-equity investments in the first generation of private companies in Vietnam. The fund made 10 investments between 2003 and 2005.

The Mekong Enterprise Fund II, Ltd. is a $50 million private equity fund which focuses on growth-equity investments in the newer generation of private companies in Vietnam, which are often faster growing than the earlier generation of private companies. These companies were typically founded by entrepreneurs with a high level of international exposure, either as a result of working or studying outside of Vietnam, or having been in senior management positions at multinational companies in Vietnam. The Fund focuses on manufacturing, branding, distribution and retail and has a typical investment size of $5 million.

The Vietnam Azalea Fund, Ltd. is a $100 million fund which focuses on making minority investments in the pre-listed and listed segments of the private equity investment space. The fund targets Vietnamese future blue-chip companies, both privately and formerly state-owned.

The Mekong Enterprise Fund III, Ltd. will be launched in the forth quarter of 2008.
