AA Construction Architecture Joint Stock Company ("AA Corporation") is a leading furniture and interior contracting company in Vietnam. AA differentiates itself by its high quality standards and a widespread corporate culture of high attention to detail. AA's revenues in 2006 were $16 million, and the revenues in 2007 is $19,2 million, a 25% increase compared to 2006 due to its extensive developments in AA Furniture Export and aggressive expansion plans in AA Deco. This growth can also be attributed in part to their new 12,000 m² export factory as well as an increase in productivity at their existing factories. AA has approximately 2,400 employees.

The Mekong Enterprise Fund made an investment in AA in March 2003, January 2004 and July 2005. AA Corporation's revenues have grown by 218% over the period that Mekong Enterprise Fund has been an investor.

Interior Design

AA’s original business line is interior design contracting services, including the supply of furniture, doors, fit-out works and stained glass for construction and refurbishment projects.

AA is the leading interior design contractor for large international standard hotel and building projects in Vietnam. Recent customers include the Intercontinental, Park Hyatt Hotel in HCMC, Caravelle Hotel in HCMC, the Sofitel Plaza Hotel in HCMC, the Sheraton Hotel in HCMC, the Sofitel Plaza Hotel in Hanoi, the Novotel Garden Plaza hotel in HCMC, and the Vietnam-Franco Hospital in HCMC.

Furniture Retail in Vietnam

AA is also a leader in the design, manufacturing and retailing of high-quality indoor furniture for the domestic furniture market under the “Nha Xinh” and “Designer Collection (Deco)” brands and retail shops. Nha Xinh is the leading retail furniture brand in Vietnam and has a well respected brand name. Nha Xinh products include all kinds of indoor furniture including sofas, dining sets, kitchen systems, cabinets, etc. AA currently has 5 retail outlets in HCMC, 1 retail outlet in Hanoi and 1 retail outlet in Danang.

Furniture Export

The third business line is the manufacturing and export of high quality indoor furniture. Initially AA mostly exported furniture to Japan but the company is increasingly exporting to Europe and the US. This is currently the most rapidly growing division of the company.

AA also manufactures high quality indoor furniture on an Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) basis for buyers in Japan, Europe and the US.

Furthermore, AA is very successful in serving the hospitality contract industry globally and has recently shipped furniture some of the world’s most famous Hotels including the Claridge’s of London, Setai Miami, Royalton New York, Mondrian South Beach and Zam Zam Tower Mecca. 

In this area, AA differentiates itself from other furniture manufacturers in Asia by focusing on high quality indoor furniture which requires significant attention to detail. Also, AA produces only indoor furniture for export whereas many private Vietnamese furniture exporters are producing primarily outdoor wooden furniture.

AA’s furniture is manufactured at its 12.4 hectare site in Duc Hoa District of Long An Province, a 1 1/2 hour drive from Ho Chi Minh City.

History

AA was founded in 1993 by Mr. Nguyen Quoc Khanh and Mr. Le Thanh Toan, initially focusing primarily on the interior design and contracting business.

In 1998 AA began to participate in bids for overseas interior design contracts and won its first overseas contract for the interior design, supply of furniture and renovation of rooms of the Hilton Colombo Hotel in Sri Lanka. In 1999, AA also started to market its standardized furniture to the urban middle-to-upper class market in Vietnam under the brand name “Nha Xinh”. In 2000, AA commenced exporting furniture in high volumes, primarily to Japan.

In 2003, AA won the Vietnam High Quality Product award based on customer surveys and was one of three furniture companies to win the Vietnam Golden Star Award issued by the Vietnam Young Business Association.
